As I read through so many testimonies, I am struck by the many people who have suffered as a result of abortion. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, our closest friends and our religious leaders.

I have personally suffered and am suffering because abortion has become a part of my life. I, like many of you, never could imagine having an abortion as a chapter in my life story. I am a married woman with two beautiful young children. When finding out I was pregnant and expecting our third child, my husband decided he did not want to be married to me and was leaving our family. In my shock and disbelief, I made the terrible, irreversible decision to terminate the pregnancy. I believed somehow that I was doing the best thing to protect my two children. But I was carrying a child that needed my protection more than anyone and I gave her none. I gave her no choice but to be sacrificed. There can be no greater pain than to lose a child, but to lose a child by your own hand is unbearable pain and anguish.

I realize now that I had not reached out to the right people when searching for help with the pregnancy. God has placed many wonderful people out there to serve as protectors for our unborn children. Reach out, they work through Him, and He will provide.

For those women being pressured by their husbands/boyfriends to end their pregnancy to save the relationship, I tell you emphatically "DO NOT DO IT!!!!!" Statistics will show you clearly that few relationships survive this ordeal. I know this first hand.

God has given women the miraculous gift of bringing forth life. This is not a choice, this is a responsibility! Be a protector of your unborn child and find an alternative that will work for you. You will thank God every day you did. God bless and keep you.
